Great Lakes Reinsurance (UK) PLC (the “Company”) is proposing to enter into a solvent Scheme of Arrangement (“Solvent Scheme”) with certain of its reinsurance creditors, pursuant to Section 425 of the Companies Act 1985 of Great Britain to finalise the liabilities under certain books of its reinsurance business (“Scheme Business”).
The purpose of this Website is to provide all persons who may be creditors of the Company in respect of the Solvent Scheme (“Scheme Creditors”) with information about the Solvent Scheme.
The Company applied to the High Court of Justice in England and Wales at the Royal Courts of Justice, Strand, London WC2A 2LL at a court hearing (the “Convening Hearing”) on Monday 23rd April, 2007 where an order was granted to allow the Company leave to convene a single meeting of Scheme Creditors (the “Scheme Creditors’ Meeting”) for the purpose of the Scheme Creditors considering and, if thought fit, approving the proposed Solvent Scheme. Scheme Creditors have been given formal Notice of the Scheme Creditors’ Meeting by letter dated 30th April, 2007 which also contained the following Scheme Documents. The Scheme Creditors’ Meeting was held at 11 a.m. London time 18th June, 2007. Please follow the news link to review further details of the meeting and the subsequent Court sanction of the scheme on 3rd July 2007, with an effective date of 5th July 2007.
